DDMC Rescue

28th September 2007

The club now has two Motor Sport Rescue Units. They are available to attend events throughout the country. Rescue 1 is based on a Peugeot Boxer 2.8HDi. Rescue 2 is based on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter 311CDi. Rescue 1 was bought as a Panel van from Simon Bailes Peugeot of Northallerton and then converted to our own specification. The club decided in 2007 to invest in a second unit as the requests for rescue units became apparent so: Rescue 2 was born and the vehicle was donated to the club from Northgate Vehicle Solutions, one of the countries largest vehicle leasing companies. Again then modified to our own design to enable it to carry the vast assortment of safety equipment required to enable it to be licenced as a Rescue Ambulance. Both vehicles cost in excess of 20,000 each to build and the club is fortunate to have a dedicated group of licenced officials to crew the units. If you would be interested in becoming a Rescue Unit member or you require the services of them please contact us.
